Until Next Time

So, as most who know me know, I got to art school. This semester I focused on making artist books. The first was this little bird, and the second was this box I call Heirloom. I mostly just call it a box.
This piece is constructed out of paper and decorated with ink, water colour, and gouache.
I hope to film both of these books in full pop-up action within the next few months, so keep a heads up.

Thank you everyone! I am very glad that this piece has amused many people. I am hugely flattered by peoples kind comments and offers to buy this piece. Unfortunately, it is not currently available for purchase. It had a home before I posted the pictures.
However, I do plan to video document all of my pop up books so that everyone can view them.

      It would be awesome if you could self-publish this and sell it on a larger scale. I know I would love this, too, and I know a fair amount of people who would love to have something like this, too.

      Just a thought.

      This is gorgeous and ridiculously creative. When I saw it on i09, I said "unicorns and science, the convergence is complete!" Thanks for sharing.

    This might be the prettiest thing I've ever seen. Such exquisite work, both morbid and beautiful. I especially like the little deer on the box top, the expression of the stretched-out neck, the butterflies around the eyes and every inch of the forest inside. I'd like to have it as a central piece in my home.

    It is such a wonderfully touching piece,so victorian on the outside and inside all delicate pastels and childlike faeryland images, from the dead unicorn foetus to the butterflies.. This would be a marvellous tool to use in the explanation of the concept of death to children..

    Omg this is the most awesome thing I've ever seen. You really need to show it to someone and maybe write a story to go with it.
